ACIA BOWL

ACAI BOWL!! Packed with Protein, the most important macronutrient for humans because of the numerous roles protein plays in the body. Whenever the body is growing, repairing or replacing tissue, proteins are involved. The main function of protein is to build and repair, as well as sustain muscle. Berries contain antioxidants called polyphenols, which are anti-inflammatory to the body and can promote optimum health + vitality. Chia helps to pump up the omega 3 fatty acid profile. Benefits of omega 3 include helping to lower cholesterol levels, reduce high blood pressure, improving symptoms of arthritis and improved mental health. Bananas are a great source of potassium that helps to regulate muscle contraction and fluid balance. Leafy greens and superfoods are anti-inflammatory and help support immune function.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups (250g) frozen blueberries
1/2 avocado (if frozen, will give a thicker consistency)
Strawberries are also great…use 1 cup
Handful baby spinach leaves (optional)
1 tablespoon of cold pressed superfood /acai powder.
1 tablespoon goji berries
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 serve of protein powder
1 cup nut or seed milk, water or pure coconut water – depending on the consistency and taste you want

Topping:
2 handfuls fresh blueberries and strawberries for the top – Use other fresh fruits if you prefer.
Sprinkle of seeds and nuts and/or coconut

METHOD
  • Combine the frozen blueberries, avocado, spinach, superfood, protein, goji berries, chia and nut milk into a high performance blender like a Thermomix.

  • Blend until smooth and creamy – adding a little more milk depending on the consistency you like.

  • Pour or spoon into 2 bowls.

  • Garnish the tops with fresh berries, coconut, nuts and seeds.
